Misbah vows to break India jinx as team leaves for World Cup

LAHORE: Pakistan cricket team with tour management on Tuesday evening left for New Zealand via Dubai to partake in the World Cup starting next month.

The tournament is set to start on February 14 and will be played in New Zealand and Australia. Pakistan is scheduled to play two warm-up matches against Kiwis before the commencement of the tournament.

LAHORE: Pakistan cricket team with tour management on Tuesday evening left for New Zealand via Dubai to partake in the World Cup starting next month.

The tournament is set to start on February 14 and will be played in New Zealand and Australia. Pakistan is scheduled to play two warm-up matches against Kiwis before the commencement of the tournament.

Speaking to media representatives prior to departing for the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq said that the team was well-prepared for the upcoming tournament. He vowed to deliver their best.

Commenting on India-Pakistan clash on Feb 15, he said that the team will try its best to break the jinx and would defeat India in the upcoming World cup for the first time.

He said the team was focused for the clash as both nations expect maximum from their respective teams.




Tour manager Naveed Akram Cheema, on the occasion said that the players were highly motivated for the mega cricketing event.

Pakistan’s ace fast bowler Junaid Khan, however, has failed to recover from his hamstring injury in time to travel to New Zealand for the short series which was being seen as a warm-up for the mega event.

Pacer Bilawal Bhatti has replaced Junaid Khan.
