Karachi airport attack: Fazlullah, Shahid declared proclaimed offenders

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi declared the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Chief Mullah Fazlullah, its spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid, and others as proclaimed offenders in the Karachi airport attack case on Thursday.

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi declared the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Chief Mullah Fazlullah, its spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid, and others as proclaimed offenders in the Karachi airport attack case on Thursday.

Three detainees, Sarmad Siddiqui, Nadeem alias Burger and Asif Zaheer, being tried in this case, were presented in court during the resumption of hearing today. All three suspects have been accused of being involved with the attack on Quaid-i-Azam International Airport in Karachi on June 08, 2014.

The ATC adjourned the hearing of the case till January 29.

As many as 28 persons, including personnel of the Airport Security Force (ASF) and 10 foreign militants were killed during the attack, while TTP and Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (UMI) had claimed the responsibility for the attack.
