Two SHOs among five policemen killed in Mirpurkhas shootout

MIRPURKHAS: Two Station House Officers (SHOs) and another three police personnel lost their lives while five others were injured in exchange of fire with dacoits in Mirpurkhas.

According to SSP Irfan Baloch, three notorious dacoits were also killed in the shootout in Mehmoodabad areas. A fourth lost his life when being taken to a hospital in Hyderabad.

MIRPURKHAS: Two Station House Officers (SHOs) and another three police personnel lost their lives while five others were injured in exchange of fire with dacoits in Mirpurkhas.

According to SSP Irfan Baloch, three notorious dacoits were also killed in the shootout in Mehmoodabad areas. A fourth lost his life when being taken to a hospital in Hyderabad.

SSP Baloch said a contingent from 12 police stations of Hyderabad, Mirpukhas, Tando Allayar and Matiari took part in the encounter.

DIG Operations Hyderabad Sanaullah Abbasi said the dacoits killed were involved in 50 to 60 heinous cases, including kidnapping for ransom.

Abbasi said those dacoits killed in the encounter included Chhotoo Narejo and Qurban Narejo, carrying Rs 1 million head money each.

The funeral prayers for the deceased policemen have been offered. On the directives of Asif Ali Zardari, Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah has announced Rs 10 million for the families of the deceased policemen.
