AJK PM praises Nawaz for raising Kashmir issue at world forum

Says India’s war-mongering is for mere public attention

LAHORE

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK)Premier Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan has appreciated Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for raising Kashmir issue forcefully and effectively at the world forum.

The international community should force India to leave Kashmir and free the land from its subjugation, he told reporters at the mausoleum of poet of the East Dr Muhammad Allama Iqbal after laying a floral wreath there on Wednesday.

He was accompanied by AJK Minister for Information Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas and Punjab Minister for Education Rana Mashhood.

To a query, the AJK PM said Kashmiris had full confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, adding that PM Nawaz had ably highlighted the Kashmir issue at the international level.

Regarding the UN resolutions on Kashmir, Raja Farooq said Kashmiris had the right to lead peaceful lives according to their own aspirations in the light of the resolutions by the United Nations.

About Indian designs, the AJK PM said India would never wage a war as huge financial losses were the price for it, adding that Kashmiris did not want a war with India as wars wreak havoc everywhere. Once imposed, the war could go beyond the use of traditional weapons of warfare, he said.

To a query, he said India's war-mongering was for mere public attention as elections were due in some of the Indian provinces, adding that India also wanted to divert attention from Kashmir issue.

Raja Farooq Haider while responding to another question said India was most irked by the CPEC project knowing well that the project was a game changer for the Pakistani economy.

The AJK premier stressed the need to broaden the scope of Kashmir Committee, saying that India wanted to isolate Pakistan on the diplomatic front.

Earlier, Raja Muhammad Farooq offered Fateha at the mausoleum of Allama Muhammad Iqbal and laid a floral wreath.

The current situation in the region and the barbarism by Indian forces in the Indian-held Kashmir besides other issues were discussed in the meeting.

The governor said violation of human rights was actually a kind of terrorism and Kashmiris could not be deprived of their due rights.

He said the United Nations should take notice of the barbarism by Indian army in held Kashmir. Pakistan can never be afraid of Indian threats and it will continue political diplomatic and ethical support to Kashmiris, he added.

PM Raja Farooq Haider said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif lived in the hearts of Kashmiris and the success of the PML-N in AJK elections was its proof.

PITB: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider has said ICT interventions devised by Punjab IT Board (PITB) have viably empowered Punjab making the province exemplary. 

The AJK PM was briefed about the technological infrastructure of Punjab by PITB Chairman Dr Umar Saif in a meeting on Wednesday.

Dr Umar Saif elaborated the PITB’s distinguished project 'Citizen Feedback Monitoring Programme (CFMP) and other flagship projects of PITB related to education, health, police, revenue, agriculture, livestock and irrigation etc. He said “CFMP monitors 20 citizen services with the objective to get feedback and redress grievances of the public. Due to its achievements, CFMP stands tall as a proactive feedback gathering mechanism to tackle petty corruption as the World Bank is also replicating it in European countries like Albania and Romania.

“On the directions of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif we are assisting Sindh, KP, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and even federal government in the form of Haj Information Management System.

PITB is working on almost 236 projects bringing change in Punjab through improved transparency, efficiency and good governance. Recently Sind Chief Minister visited PITB to seek technical assistance in his police department,” he said.

The AJK prime minister lauded Dr Umar Saif and his team and pledged to replicate CFMP in AJK. Dr Saif presented souvenir of Arfa Tower to the PM as a token of gratitude and assured full support in IT sector.
