KARACHI: Police and Rangers conducted joint raids in Gulshan-e-Buner area of Landhi where two alleged accused belonging to a banned outfit were killed while arms and ammunition were also recovered from their possession, Geo News reported Monday.
While disclosing further details of the action, police sources told that they raided a house in Gulshan-e-Buner area in Landhi to arrest the banned organization members and were attacked by the culprits who hurled two hand grenades on the security forces.
During the retaliatory fire by the police and Rangers, two alleged accused who belonged to Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed while a Kalashnikov, TT pistol and a hand grenade were also recovered from their possession.
The SHO Quaidabad police station further told that two policemen and a Rangers’s man were also injured during the operation.
Rangers’ spokesman told that the accused who were killed during the joint operation were involved in the attack that targeted a police bus in Razzakabad.
It may be mentioned here that 13 police commandos were martyred and 58 others injured in a bomb blast that targeted a police bus near Razzakabad Police Training Centre on Thursday morning.
The martyred policemen belong to specialized security unit.
