PESHAWAR: One person was killed and another injured in a US drone strike in the Miranshah area of North Waziristan.

Sources said that the unmanned US drone fired two missiles that targeted a house in Chashma area near Miranshah late on Thursday night. As a result of attack, one person was killed and another injured while the house was completely destroyed in the attack.

The sources further told that the unmanned aircraft was continually flying in the area, causing panic among the residents.

The attack comes amid protest against the US drone attacks by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ruling alliance led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The protesters have blocked Nato supplies from and to Afghanistan and accused US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) director and its station chief in Islamabad of murdering people in drone attacks.
