Chiniot: DSP, dacoit killed in botched bank robbery

CHINIOT: Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and a robber were killed during a shootout as bank theft turned into a hostage situation here on Tuesday.


As per the details, the robber entered the bank at 12:00 PM and took the bank staff and visitors hostage. He exchanged fire when police surrounded the bank and launched an operation. The shootout continued for several hours and police got released seven hostages.


Two other accomplices of the robber, present outside the bank managed to flee.


“The exchange of fire between the police and robbers continued for five hours in which the DSP was killed. The Chiniot and Elite police conducted a successful operation. The robber inside was heavily armed,” police said.


Speaking to media, the bank manager said one robber entered the bank and took the present staff hostage. The manager added that none of the hostages were harmed by the dacoit.

Check the video of this shootout may be I am wrong but looks like the cop killed the DSP not the Dacoit.
