Intel Education Awards for teacher, principals and administrators was held in a ceremony at a local hotel. Intel holds this ceremony every year to encourage and honour the performance of those schools who actively participate in the implementation of ICT within their School Curriculum and promoting 21st Century skills and developing collaborative learning environment by facilitating the faculty. Through Intel Teach Awards outstanding teachers are highlighted and their case studies shared with others to further infuse and motivate 21st century learning skills by the use of technology in the classroom and all across the curriculum.

 

This year in the Intel Education Initiatives Award category, Executive Director Roots School System Chaudhry Faisal Mushtaq was conferred with ‘Intel education Appreciation Award 2010- 2011’ for his contribution in the launch of ICT Skills for success curriculum grade 1 to 7 in RSS. Intel Appreciation Award 2010- 2011 was also conferred upon Walid Mushtaq Executive Director Roots School System for supporting ICT integration in RSS.

 

In the category ‘Principal of the Year’ the most prestigious Award was presented to Shazia Nadeem, Headmistress Roots Preparatory School 40-Civil Lines as she won the 3rd Position and a Bronze Certificate with a cash Award of 2000 US Dollars at the Intel Teach School Awards 2011 held in Jakarta Indonesia for amongst 17 Schools representing South East Asia.

 

In the category ‘Teacher of the Year’, Rabia Riaz- RSS DHA Phase 2 Sector C Islamabad, Huma Saif — RSS DHA Phase 2 Sector C Islamabad and Rabia Quddus — Roots Junior School 48 A Satellite Town Rawalpindi. In the category ‘Intel Teach getting started’ Fouzia Tariq, Amna Zahoor from Roots Junior School 77-A Satellite Town and Hafza Bazmi from Roots Junior School 48 — A Satellite Town were honoured.

 

In the category ‘Intel Teach Essential’, Ammara Pervaiz from RSS 38-Nazimuddin Road F-8/4 Campus and Memoona Imran from RSS DHA Phase 2 Sector C Islamabad were honoured. In the category “Appreciation Award” Tayyaba Noureen — Curriculum Lead ICT RSS, Atifa Urooj — Manager RNITTE, Tehmeena Raees — ICT Coordinator Roots G-8 Campus Islamabad and Mian Waseen — Curriculum Support Officer — DQCA RSS were presented with awards shields and certificates.

 

The Intel Country Manager Naveed Siraj speaking on the occasion highly appreciated the award winners who are actively engaged in introducing 21st century knowledge skills through technology in their school systems.
