An all-parties conference (APC) of the Jamaat-e-Islami on Thursday condemned last week’s cross-border Nato attack, and demanded that the US immediately stop drone attacks in Pakistan.

The US trapped Pakistan into the war on terror and, after a decade, started manifesting its wicked designs to disintegrate the country, and also conducted the Abbotabad operation while keeping the government and the military in the dark, said JI Karachi chapter chief Hussain Mahenti while addressing the APC held at the Idara-e Noor-e Haq.

The decisions taken by Pervez Musharraf proved lethal to the country, while the present government followed in the same tracks and Pakistan suffered colossal losses, he said, criticising former Pakistani ambassador to US Hussain Haqqani for showing “more loyalty to America”.

Also addressing the APC, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Prof N D Khan said the country suffered a lot only because of its tilt towards the US.

“We could fight the US with extra-precision technology and, before we attain that capability, we must defend our country with the unity,” he said.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader (PML-N) Advocate Ghulam Mustafa suggested that the political parties should not exploit the situation for mileage and should concentrate on the current circumstances.

PTI Aslam Rajput said the division of the nation on ethnic grounds was a basic problem.

Jamiat Ulema Islam leader Muhammad Aslam Ghauri, Pakistan Democratic Party leader Basharat Mirza, Nizam-e Mustafa party leader Al Haaj Rafi and others also addressed the APC.
