PPP Shaheed Bhutto (SB) Punjab President Dr Mubashar Hassan Tuesday reacted strongly to PML-N President Nawaz Sharif remarks that current lamentable state of Pakistan was due to the nationalisation policy of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

In a statement issued here, Dr Mubashar Hassan, former federal minister in the Bhutto cabinet, stated the political trains of Nawaz Sharif stood derailed and he seemed to be terribly frustrated at not being made a partner by President Asif Ali Zardari in the current loot and plunder on his terms.

He said Nawaz Sharif seemed ignorant of the fact that nationalisation measures were protected for 10 years by the 1973 Constitution. He went on to say that Nawaz did not seem to know that nationalization policy was a part of the founding programme of the PPP in 1967 and their elections manifesto in 1970.

The program was mandated by the people and we are proud of our nationalization policy, said Dr Mubashar Hassan. He quoted Nawaz as saying that he (Mubashar) and his friend late JA Raheem were responsible for the lamentable state of Pakistan due to the nationalization policy. Dr Mubashar said someone should ask Nawaz what had made him come to his office in 1972. Terming Nawaz a spoiled child of the Sharif family, he alleged that he Nawaz picked up skills in bribing the generals of those days and getting permits for building factories for himself whereas his family blamed them for the ruins left over by him in Punjab and General Zia ul Haq in Pakistan.
