MIRAMSHAH: Four more people were killed in a US drone attack on a vehicle at Malik Ashdar village on the Miramshah-Razmak Road on Monday, tribal sources said.

It was the third attack during the last 24 hours and 18th by the CIA-operated spy planes in North Waziristan this year The sources said the pilotless planes fired six missiles at the vehicle. Four missiles missed the target while two others hit the double-cabin pickup truck on the Miramshah-Razmak Road.

Eyewitnesses told The News that body parts of the slain men lay scattered all along the road and in nearby fields. Later, when the drones disappeared, the villagers collected the body parts and buried them.

“From their body parts, we assumed that they were four men travelling in the vehicle,” a resident of Malik Ashdar village told The News on telephone. He said the charred body organs were later put in coffins and laid to rest at a local graveyard. The US has once again stepped up drone attacks in North Waziristan and over a dozen spy planes can be seen flying over villages in the tribal region round the clock.
