PESHAWAR: The political administration and security forces during their day-long search could not recover the body of the slain former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) official, Colonel Sultan Amir Tarar, commonly known as Colonel Imam, on Sunday.

The authorities started search for recovery of the body after the media reported that militants had thrown his body on the Mir Ali-Miramshah road. Officials of the political administration in Mir Ali told The News that the Mir Ali-Miramshah road was thoroughly searched but they could not find the body of the late army officer.

Earlier, some private television channels reported that the body of late Col Imam was dumped at Karamkot village on Mir Ali-Miramshah road. “No villager has seen his body being placed on the road. Unconfirmed reports by certainTV channels created a huge confusion in the area,” observed a government official.
