The Pakistan Navy on Sunday said that it continued its rescue and relief operations in the flood-hit areas of Sindh, including Thul, Kandhkot, Ghospur, Rohri, Sukkur, Khairpur, Nawabshah and Naushehro Feroz.

 

The Pakistan Navy rescue teams have so far evacuated more than 77,000 people to safe places, said a press release issued on Sunday.

 

The PN hovercrafts, helicopters and boats have been deployed for carrying out the rescue operations.

 

It said that medical teams were also providing treatment to patients for various diseases.

 

The press release said that the PN has so far provided 43,850 kilograms of food and relief goods to flood victims. 5700 kilogram ready-to-cook food, 1,000 kilograms dates and 5,000 kilograms food has been dispatched to Sukkur, it said.

 

Additionally, 10,000 kilograms of food was being arranged for affected areas. The PN helicopters also air-dropped 8,500 kilograms of food and relief good in Thal, Ghospur and Mirpur areas.
