I am really perplexed by the ICC’s decision of omitting Saeed Ajmal from the list of ICC’s annual awards. All the bowlers who have been nominated in the panel are nowhere close to Ajmal as far as the number of wickets in all formats of the game during the last one year is concerned. There is a clear bias against an outstanding bowler from Pakistan. Measures like lodging a protest against this decision by the PCB and boycotting the ICC award ceremony are not likely to produce any result.
In recognition of his outstanding bowling abilities I strongly recommended that Ajmal should be considered for the pride of performance award by the government. This will encourage him to continue performing as he has been doing during the last one year.
