I must say that the news regarding the court martial of three army generals is the most sensational news of the year 2012. I hope it is true and the three armed forces’ persons involved, if found guilty, are brought to justice. In the past, senior officers of the armed forces have been put in the dock for mutiny, conspiracies, disobeying orders, etc but there has been only one – and quite a notorious – corruption case and the punishment given to the culprit was merely 5-10 percent of the black money!
It is expected that out of these three generals and two civilians who will be tried, those who are guilty of corruption should be harshly sentenced. Although the proceedings of the court martial will remain confidential, the final outcome of the case should be made public.
