The portrait of the Quaid-e-Azam on a hilltop along the Islamabad Highway, which used to be impressive once, now lies neglected and ignored by the government. The portrait used to light up at night showing the Quaid’s silhouette and the words “Unity, Faith, Discipline.” Then the electricity supply to the portrait was cut off permanently and its wires and bulbs gone, probably stolen.

On the other hand, the capital authorities have put on PPP flags and banners all over Islamabad, using official machinery and funds. Is there no one to accord some respect to the portrait of the Quaid-e-Azam once again? I request the government to please consider the Quaid, the leader of the Independence Movement, at least a PPP jiyala, so that his portrait can receive the same respect a PPP flag enjoys.
