Your editorial ‘Minorities and migration’ (Aug 16) says, “We certainly want our minorities to stay and feel confident that they have a place in this country.” Who are “we” who want “our” minorities to feel safe? The very idea of terming a Pakistani citizen “a minority” is repugnant to his right of equal citizenship.

The Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs and people of other religions and sects are all Pakistani citizens. They enjoy equal status and right of protection under the law of the land, irrespective of what religion they follow.
