ISLAMABAD: Key character of the Memogate case, Mansoor Ijaz, is understood to have presented additional forensic evidence to experts in London on Thursday which, he told the Memo Commission officials, reinforced the evidence he had already given.

Sources close to his lawyers said Mansoor Ijaz spent eight hours with the Pakistani Judicial Commission’s forensic experts to have his computer and BlackBerry handsets examined.

While Husain Haqqani and his lawyers boycotted the proceedings, the sources in Mansoor’s legal team said it was an exhausting process and Mansoor Ijaz had substantiated each and every word of each BBM chat exchange, e-mail, SMS messages and all the telephone calls that were exchanged between him and Husain Haqqani. It has been forensically verified and validated.

Many deleted messages were also recovered in the process, the sources said. Sources said it was the strongest possible reinforcement that Mansoor’s team could have presented.

In a private message, Mansoor Ijaz has also announced the completion of the case, as far as he was concerned. He thanked his friends and expressed gratitude for standing with him through the storm.
