MIRAMSHAH: Seven persons were killed and two others sustained injuries when a US drone hit a house in Miramshah Bazaar in North Waziristan Agency early on Tuesday, tribal sources said.

Sources said the drone fired two missiles at a house where nine people were asleep. Two rooms of the house collapsed and the rest of the building caught fire, sources said. Later, when the drones disappeared, villagers started rescue work and retrieved seven bodies from the debris of the house. Two injured people were also pulled out of the rubble and shifted to a private medical facility.

Those who took part in the rescue work said the bodies of all the seven men had been mutilated beyond recognition. They were later laid to rest in a local graveyard in Miramshah. There was no word about the identity of the victims, but some sources described them as members of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

On the call of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI), tribesmen in North Waziristan on Monday observed a complete shutdown against frequent missile strikes and urged the international community to take note of the killing of innocent people in CIA-operated drone attacks.
