Return process of Kurram, Orakzai displaced families from Sept 29

PESHAWAR: Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan on Wednesday said the return process of the displaced tribespeople to Kurram and Orakzai tribal regions would start from September 29. He stated that about 4,500 families displaced from Kurram Agency and 700 families from Orakzai would return to their homes from September 29.

PESHAWAR: Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan on Wednesday said the return process of the displaced tribespeople to Kurram and Orakzai tribal regions would start from September 29.
He stated that about 4,500 families displaced from Kurram Agency and 700 families from Orakzai would return to their homes from September 29. He added that 5,000 displaced families belonging to Akhel tribe would be sent home in Orakzai Agency soon. He was chairing a high-level meeting to review the return process of displaced tribespeople here at the Governor’s house in Peshawar on Wednesday, said a handout.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Amjad Ali Khan, Inspector General of Frontier Corps Maj-Gen Muhammad Tayyab Azam, Secretary Law and Order Fata of Shakil Qadir, DG FDMA Ikramullah and other officials attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the return process and discussed the law and order situation in Fata, particularly Bajaur Agency and Mohmand Agency. The participants of the meeting were briefed on steps being taken for the return and rehabilitation of the internally displaced persons (IDPs).
They were also informed that every family would get Rs 25,000 relief package including Rs 10,000 as traveling allowance. The government would also provide financial assistance to undertake reconstruction of their houses. Each family will get Rs 400,000 for damaged and Rs160,000 for partially damaged houses, the meeting was told.
