SWABI: Announcing to move the Election Tribunal against two councillors, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leaders on Sunday accused the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) of indulging in dirty politics.
Talking to reporters here, PML-N district chief Iftikhar Ahmad Khan and JUI-F district head Attaul Haq Dervish said the PTI leaders won the support of the councillors in Chota Lahor tehsil belonging to the seven-party alliance in the district.
They said that Noor Jehan, who returned to the Chota Lahor Tehsil Council on the women reserved seat, switched loyalty and joined the PTI. They said same was the case with Shahab Khan, who was JUI-F councillor, but defected to the PTI.
“We have decided to move the Election Tribunal against the two councillors to get them de-seated,” said Iftikhar Khan.
He accused the PTI of indulging in dirty politics. Iftikhar Khan accused the PTI leaders of violating democratic norms and principles.
Attaul Haq Dervish said his party had decided to move the Election Tribunal against Shahab Khan. “We will get him disqualified,” he declared.
