BISHAM: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) nominee Niaz Ahmed Khan was elected nazim of Shangla district on Sunday.
Niaz Ahmed Khan, son of PML-N leader Amir Muqam, secured 23 votes while his rival candidate Sadidur Rehman got 21 votes while Kamran Iqbal of the same alliance was elected naib nazim.
Sadidur Rehman was candidate of the Awami National Party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Awami Jamhoori Ittehad Pakistan. Niaz Ahmed was a joint nominee of the PML-N, Pakistan People’s Party and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl.
Muhammad Tahir of the PML-N was elected naizm and Shaukat Ali naib nazim of Alpuri tehsil. Similarly, Raja Usman Ali won the nazim seat and Gohar Ali naib nazim seat in Puran tehsil.
