DAGGAR: The provincial Minister for Religious Affairs Habibur Rehman Khan along with Vice-Chancellor Ehsan Ali Khan on Saturday inspected the proposed site for the Abdul Wali Khan University (AWKU) Campus on the premises of Degree College Daggar in Buner district.
The construction work on the building of up-gradation status of AWKU Campus and the site covering 73 kanals at the cost of Rs50 million had been allocated in the Annual Development Programme in sector of Higher Education Programme.
The minister and VC told reporters that at present the campus had been set up in the building of the Government Commerce College and the agreement would expire in 2021.
They said that four more disciplines including two each of science and humanities would be added to the campus to upgrade its status and later it would be turned into a full-fledged University.
The minister said that there were already five degree colleges, four for boys and one for girls, in the district, adding, three more degree colleges; one for boys and two for girls, would be established this year for which funds had already been allocated in the ADP.
