Met office says rain spell starts fading out

PESHAWAR: The current spell of rain in Peshawar division will start fading out from today and water flow in the rivers passing through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will also drop to normal level during the next twenty four hours.
This was informed by Director Met Office Peshawar, Mushtaq Ali Shah, while sharing forecast with The News on Monday. He said the current spell of monsoon rains will become lighter with each day in Peshawar division and there is a possibility that it will stop today.
In other divisions that have received heavy falls in recent days, the downpour will also become lighter, he said and added that level of water in the rivers in the province will become normal as rains if even continued will not cause any overflow or flooding.
The Met reported on Monday that in the last twenty four hours scattered rain-thundershower occurred across the province along with heavy fall at isolated places.In Kohat 53 milemetre (mm) rain was recorded in last twenty-four hours Balakot, 33mm, Parachinar,13.2mm, Bannu 5mm, Cherat,4mm, Dirmm 4mm, DI Khan3 mm, Kakul, 2mm, Saidu Sharif,1mm and Peshawar received 0.4mm rain.
It said that rain and thundershower are expected in scattered places Chitral, Swat, Shangla and Buner, Dir, Charsadda, Nowshera, Hangu, Karak, Haripur, Mansehra, Battagram, Kohistan, Torghar, Lakki, Marwat, Bajaur and Mohmand agencies. Isolated heavy fall is also expected in Malakand Division which may generate flash flood in the river, streams and nullahs in the area. There is also risk of landslides over the hilly areas of the province.
