Cops awarded for recovering kidnapped student

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakht unkhwa Inspector General of Police Nasir Khan Durrani on Tuesday awarded certificates to the cops, who have recovered a 2nd year student from captivity of kidnappers.
A team of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in an encounter at Pabbi town of Nowshera district recovered a kidnapped student, Sartaj, son of Taj Muhammad. The kidnappers were demanding Rs100 million for his release.
Sartaj was was kidnapped on May 5 from the Dilazak Road. The kidnappers made an abortive attempt to shift him to Afghanistan. The kidnappers were making calls from Afghanistan to demand ransom.
The CTD police traced their associates from call data record and raided Pabbi where an encounter took place between the police and kidnappers. The police safely recovered the kidnapped student and arrested the kidnapper.
Two hand-grenades, one Kalashnikov and a pistol were recovered from the accused. The arrested kidnapper is stated to be linked with Lashkar-i-Islam. His other accomplice Nasir Khan is commander of Lashkar-e-Islam. Later, the police arrested three other accused involved in this case. Two accused confessed to the crime in the court.
