LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that arrangements for possible flood and monsoon should be better than the previous year and he would personally monitor them regularly.
Addressing a meeting at Civil Secretariat through video link, he said the Cabinet Committee on Flood should ensure immediate implementation of decisions taken for coping with possible flood and warned that he would not tolerate any delay. Shahbaz Sharif said that all federal and provincial departments concerned should complete all precautionary arrangements for coping with possible floods. He said the Cabinet Committee on Flood should personally monitor protective arrangements by visiting various places. “The arrangements should be effective and comprehensive in all respects,” he said and directed that the weather situation and flow of water in the rivers should be monitored 24 hours and departments and institutions concerned should remain alert in view of the situation. He said that there should be complete preparation for meeting any emergency situation.
