PESHAWAR: Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan said on Wednesday that grievances redressal mechanism should be established so that students could voice dissatisfaction at poor or inadequate performance of a university.
Speaking at the Senate meeting for approval of budget at Governor’s House, he said firm guidelines should be formulated for budget.He said that universities administration should manage financial budget in an appropriate way to overcome budget deficit. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Higher Education Department Secretary Dr Noor Muhammad, Facility of Engineering Dean Dr Syeda Farhana, Advisor to COMSTECH Dr Qasim Jan, National University of Science and Technology Rector Engineer Muhammad Asghar and others were present at the meeting.
“The university administration should follow a strict calendar and all provisions should be according to the University Model Act,” he added.He said the University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar, was an autonomous body and there were provisions for arranging training and workshops for their students.
