PESHAWAR: The students of the Department of Art and Design Tuesday showcased their creative skills and imagination in the two-day annual exhibition at the University of Peshawar (UoP).
The organisers said the exhibition was students’ academic endeavours and a true reflection of their value. The students worked on themes like painting, communication and textile designing. Around 20 themes were on display in the event.
Student Mubashra Anwar worked on Viking Artifacts, Marwa Shafi on Aesthetics of Islamic Metal, Nazish Khattak on Fashion Brand Identification, Samreen Noreen on Chinese Folk Tattoos, Henna Gul on Abstract Painting, Nazish Durrani on old painting of Mohallah Sethiyaan, and Rizwan Karim on the scenic beauty of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Vice-Chancellor UoP Dr Muhammad Rasul Jan was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. He was accompanied by Registrar Dr Syed Fazle Hadi and others. The vice-chancellor visited various stalls and appreciated the creative art work of the students.
Addressing the students he said that every good work needed to be shared, adding the department had provided a good platform to students to unearth their skills. Dr Rasul Jan stated that the UoP was looking for bridging the gap between the academia and industry. He added that a display centre for the creative work of the students would soon be established so that their skill is showcased for industrialists and entrepreneurs.
