11 soldiers injured in two IED blasts in Mohmand Agency

GHALLANAI: Eleven soldiers sustained injuries in two roadside blasts in Safi tehsil in Mohmand Agency, official sources said on Wednesday.The sources said that a convoy of the Bajaur Scouts was on way from a checkpost near the Afghan border when their vehicle was targetted with an improvised explosive device (IED) in Gongat Jor.
“Eight soldiers identified as Said Amin Khan, Kamran, Samiullah, Niaz Hussain, Usman, Subhanullah, Lal Hassan and Imran Hassan were injured in the blast,” an official source said.The sources said a bomb disposal squad officials dispatched to the area who were targetted with another IED.
Three soldiers Subedar Shakir Khan, Hameed Khan and Khan Wali sustained injuries in the second blast.The injured were rushed to the Mamad Gat Hospital wherefrom some of the injured were airlifted to the Combined Military Hospital Peshawar. Twenty suspected persons were arrested during the search operation launched in the area after the blasts.
Meanwhile, the political administration demolished houses of two accused of the Halimzai blasts. Ayaz Khan and Luqman, whose houses were demolished, had been accused of carrying out two blasts in Halimzai tehsil and killing a watchman.
