People protest absence of staff at Karak hospital

KARAK: Attendants of patients at the District Headquarters Hospital blocked the Indus Highway in protest against absence of doctors and other staff on Sunday. Several people had brought their patients to the health facility but they staged protest after they found out that staff was not available. They chanted slogans

KARAK: Attendants of patients at the District Headquarters Hospital blocked the Indus Highway in protest against absence of doctors and other staff on Sunday.
Several people had brought their patients to the health facility but they staged protest after they found out that staff was not available. They chanted slogans against the government and the hospital administration.
Later, the in-charge of Karak Police Station Qismat Khan and Medical Superintendent of DHQ Hospital Dr Fakhre Alam visited the spot and negotiated with the protesters.The demonstrators reopened the Indus Highway and dispersed after the assurance by the medical superintendent that action would be taken against those who were absent from duties.
