Students display skills at electronics projects exhibition

Safety cap to protect blind people from accidents

PESHAWAR: Students displayed creative skills at the 3rd annual electronics project exhibition organised by the Department of Electronics at the University of Peshawar on Thursday.
A total of 30 hardware and poster projects prepared by MSc, MS final year and BSc and BS electronics students were displayed at the exhibition.UoP Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Rasul Jan was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. He visited stalls and appreciated the creative skills of the students.
The main projects displayed included intelligent accident-detection and ambulance rescue system, electronic voting machine, electronic safety cap for blind people and 17 other.
Associate Prof Engineer Muhammad Asif said the exhibition was aimed at encouraging hardworking students, motivate new entrants, enhance the team work of students and improve the quality of education provided in the field of electronics.
Muhammad Asif said a total of 60 projects were displayed at the programme.A final year student of Department of Electronics, Mohsin Iqbal, had displayed project on intelligent accident-detection and ambulance rescue system.
He explained that when the accident took place, the ambulance often reached late the scene as rescuers were unaware of the proper location of the site.Another project was for the blind. The students prepared an electronics cap, which would facilitate the blind people and save them from accidents.
