BARA: The father of the slain driver, who was gunned down on Saturdayby the Khassadar personnel in Jamrud subdivision in Khyber Agency, has asked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor to order judicial inquiry into the killing of his son.
Talking to reporters on Monday, Waraan Khan said his son, Rizwan, a taxi driver, was heading to Jamrud Bazaar in his car (LKL-333). He said the Khassadar force signalled him to stop at Takhtabaig checkpost.
He said the Khassadar force opened fire on him, leaving him dead on the spot. The aggrieved father said some elements were trying to sour relations between the government and Zakhakhel tribe.
He denied the allegation that his son was involved in drug-trafficking. “It is an allegation that the Khassadars recovered 26 kilogram of hashish from his car,” he insisted. The tribesman said the Khassadars could have fired at the tyres of the car to force him to stop the car, but they intentionally killed his son.
He said: “We have been supporting pro-government Tauheedul Islam and have been fighting against the militants in Bazaar Zakhakhel for four years.” He alleged that his son was deliberately killed by a Khassadar who was deputed at the checkpost.
