TANK: Around 384 families of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) were sent to South Waziristan Agency (SWA) during the 12th phase of the process that will conclude today.
Official sources said that 4,402 families were sent back home in Sarwakai and Sararogha tehsils during the 12th phase that started on March 16.The tribespeople left homes in SWA in the wake of the military operation Rah-e-Nijat in 2009. Around 4,937 families got registered to return homes.
The sources said that government didn’t provide financial assistance to the families that were not registered in 2009.The government is providing Rs10,000 cash to the returning families and ATM card through which the IDPs will withdraw Rs25,000. The government has established a health centre at the Fort Camp, where the IDPs are provided free medical treatment.
