PESHAWAR: The Culture Committee of Peshawar Press Club organized a function to celebrate 76 birthdays of the prominent writer and poet, Salim Raz, here on Monday.
The Pakhtun writers, intellectuals and poets from various parts of the province attended the celebration.A former provincial minister Abdus Subhan Khan presided over the meeting while a writer Fasihuddin was the chief guest.
The speakers including prominent writers and poets, Noorul Amin Yousafzai, Kulsoom Zain, Israr Toru, Farooq Firaq, Habib Sajid, Roshan Khattak, Rokhan Yousafzai, Professor Mohammad Awais Qurne, Mian Wakeel Shah Faqirkhel, and others eulogized services of Salim Raz.
The chief guest Abdus Subhan Khan thanked the Press Club for honouring Pashto poets and writers. He expressed the hope that the journalists’ body would continue this practice in future.The former minister said it was an honour for him to preside over such a function
