PESHAWAR: Afghanistan on Sunday summoned Pakistan’s ambassador to Kabul and lodged protest over the arrest of Afghan diplomats in Peshawar and alleged harassment of Afghan refugees.
According to the Afghan Islamic Press, a press release issued by Afghan Foreign Ministry said the Pakistan’s ambassador to Kabul Sayyed Ibrar Hussain was summoned to the Foreign Ministry to lodge Afghanistan’s protest over the arrest of diplomats.
The Afghan deputy foreign minister on political affairs Hekmat Khalil lodged the protest on the arrest of Afghan diplomats and termed it against the diplomatic norms. He demanded investigations in this regard.
Similarly, the deputy minister also expressed concern over the alleged harassment of Afghan refugees in Pakistan.He said forced repatriation of Afghan refugees needed to be stopped before the Afghan delegation visits Pakistan to discuss the refugee issue.
