CM hopes Centre to take political leaders into confidence

NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak Saturday said the federal government had assured him to convene an All Parties Conference (APC) to take the national political leadership into confidence on the Kashgar-Gwadar Economic Corridor project.
Talking to reporters here, Pervez Khattak said he had taken up the issue of change in the route of the economic corridor with the federal government and conveyed his government’s reservations accordingly.
The chief minister said the provincial government had provided details to the federal government about the arrears of the province outstanding against it on account of net hydel profit and other accounts.
He said the matter would be discussed during his upcoming meetings with the federal ministers.
Pervez Khattak said he had also demanded the federal government to release funds for the completion of the development works including Lowari Tunnel and Chashma Right Bank Canal.
He said the federal government had agreed to provide gas to Karak district from the indigenous reservoir.
The chief minister said the PTI was against horse-trading in Senate election and supported the show of hands during voting.
