PESHAWAR: Residents of Sikandarpura locality here have demanded the provincial government to name the Government City District Girls Degree College in memory of Sofia Hijab, a female teacher martyred in the December 16 terrorist attack on the Army Public School and College.
Through a statement on Saturday, they paid tributes to the slain teacher who had sacrificed her life in the line of duty. They said the best way to acknowledge the sacrifices of the teachers and students of Army Public School and College was to name schools and colleges after them. As the late schoolteacher Sofia Hijab belonged to Sikandarpura, the residents said the authorities should not let the sacrifices of the teachers go unnoticed.
