ZTBL, SBP register wins in Inter-Departmental Women T20
KARACHI: Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) recorded victories on the opening day of the 2nd Inter-Departmental T20 Women Cricket Championship 2019 at the Diamond Club Ground in Islamabad on Wednesday.
In the first outing, ZTBL overwhelmed Higher Education Commission (HEC) by eight wickets. Tooba Hasan scored unbeaten 35 off 50 balls with four fours to enable HEC to post 81-8 in the stipulated 20 overs. Subhana Tariq was the pick of the bowlers with 3-15.
In response, ZTBL reached the target in the 13th over after losing only two wickets in the process. Javeria Wadood belted 31 off 26 balls with five fours, while Muneeba Ali made 26 off 30 balls with two fours.
Bismah Maroof remained not out on 18. Saba Nazir and Tooba Hasan got one wicket each. Meanwhile at the same venue, SBP defeated PCB XI by 56 runs. Javeria Rauf (39) and Aliya Riaz (26*) enabled SBP to post 124-5. Naila Nazir and Waheeda Akhtar got two wickets each. PCB XI, in response, were restricted to 68-7 with Huraina Sajjad making a slow 48-ball 25 with two fours. Ghulam Fatima and Aliya Riaz got two wickets each.
