DERA ISMAIL Khan: A local leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday alleged that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights Israrullah Gandapur was openly supporting Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) candidate Asad Mahmood, the son of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, in the by-election on NA-25 against the PTI candidate Dawar Khan Kundi.

In a statement, PTI Dera Ismail Khan chapter Senior Vice President Mukhtiar Bhittani asked Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to take notice of the matter as Israrullah Gandapur was claiming that he had taken the chief minister into confidence.

He said Israrullah Gandapur had won the elections as an independent candidate with the support of Maulana Fazlur Rehman and had been using JUI-F platform to malign the PTI. However, he said after winning the general election Israrullah Gandapur joined the PTI.

He said the minister was damaging the party by using his official status, adding that it would harm the PTI in the upcoming local government elections. Mukhtiar Bhittani asked PTI Chairman Imran Khan to personally look into the matter and immediately order his removal from the cabinet and get him disqualified by the Election Commission of Pakistan for working against the interests of the party.
