PESHAWAR: To muster support for their brother Imran Khan, the sisters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief carried out door-to-door canvassing for him here Saturday.

Imran’s sisters Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan and Noreen Khan and PTI women wing leader Fauzia Kasuri along with provincial and district women office-bearers and activists visited the localities in the walled city and asked people to vote for the PTI.

Imran is contesting from NA-1. Though the female activists of PTI are actively campaigning since last week, the sisters of Imran were particularly invited to meet party workers to boost their morale, said Ayesha Gulalai Wazir, the PTI women wing leader.

Imran also visited the city late Saturday. However, he did not address any big rally. Sources said rowdiysm marred at least two functions of the party in the city, forcing Imran to leave the place without talking to the activists.

Khan’s sisters, after meeting ISF activists at the party’s NA-1 central election office, also visited the party’s election offices in PK-1, PK-2 and PK-3 constituencies.

Though a large number of activists were accompanying Khan’s sisters, the PTI candidates for three provincial assembly seats were not seen on the occasion.
