PESHAWAR: Vice-Chancellor of the University of Peshawar (UoP) Dr Qibla Ayaz has said the university would extend cooperation to the Afghan scientists in exploration of resources in their country.
He was talking to a five-member foreign delegation of scientists led by Professor Michael Petterson of University of Leicester, United Kingdom, during a meeting here on Monday.
Dr Qibla Ayaz and members of the visiting team discussed the collaboration of National Centre of Excellence in Geology (NCEG) of UoP with the universities of Kabul and Leicester.
Briefing the delegation, Director NCEG said that the three universities were linked with the NCEG through a three-year project (Delphe) funded by British Council Pakistan. He said the project was aimed at assisting the scientists of these institutes in professional development.Qibla reiterated his institution’s resolve to extend cooperation to scientists of Afghanistan.
