MIRANSHAH: Hundreds of students and tribesmen Wednesday staged protest against the sacrilegious film and demanded the Muslim rulers to sever diplomatic ties with the United States and expel its ambassadors from their countries.
The students of the Government Postgraduate College and Miranshah High School for Boys took out a rally and staged protest at the Miranshah Press Club.
Led by president of the students union, Safiullah, the protesting students chanted slogans against the US for allowing the sacrilegious movie that hurt sentiments of the Muslims across the globe. Hundreds of tribesmen later joined the protesters and set on fire an effigy of the US President Barack Obama.
The protesters said jihad was the only way to teach a lesson to the United States for hurting sentiments of the Muslims. They urged the Muslim rulers to stop serving their American and western masters. The protesters marched through the Miranshah bazaar and later reached Razmak Adda where a big rally was staged.
