HANGU: A person was killed and 14 others sustained injuries in three separate blasts in various areas of Kurram Agency on Friday, official sources said.

 

The source said that unknown person had placed the explosives in a pushcart outside the Maaz Khan Market in Sadda town during the Friday prayers.

 

The explosives went off when the people were returning after offering Friday prayers, the sources said, adding, 13 persons sustained injuries in the explosion.

 

The injured were taken to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Sadda where one of them, Jehanzeb Khan, succumbed to his injuries. The condition of five other persons was stated to be critical. The sources said eight shops in the market were also damaged in the blast.

 

Meanwhile, a landmine blast occurred on the Sayen Road in lower Kurram Agency, but no human or material loss was reported in the incident.

 

Also, a landmine hit a tractor in Khwar Killay in Sadda. The tractor was destroyed in the blast and two persons, Zabita Khan and Yaqoob Khan, were injured.
