KARAK: A driver, who was kidnapped three days ago, returned home on Thursday night, police said.
District Police Officer Sajjad Khan told reporters on Friday that the police had tightened noose around the kidnappers who dropped the driver, Khrusheed, near Kasho bridge on Karak-Bannu road at night.
He said the police later took Khursheed, a resident of Jandri area, to the Rehmatabad police checkpost wherefrom he was handed over to his family members. His family claimed they had not paid any ransom to the kidnappers.
Khrusheed’s car was rented by seven women and a man to travel to Mianwali three days ago and on return he was kidnapped by eight armed persons near Hameedan area.The driver said he had not been tortured by the kidnappers, who demanded Rs500,000 ransom that was not paid to them.The DPO said security had been put on alert during Ramazan. He asked the masses to support the police in its duty to ensure peace in the district.
