ISLAMABAD: President Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Saturday said that in-camera sessions or committee meetings were not enough to resolve Balochistan issue rather serious dialogues should be held with annoyed Baloch leaders to find out the solution.
“The Balochistan crisis requires sincere efforts without indulging in political point scoring,” he said this while talking to a delegation of Baloch leaders who met him at his residence.
Terming the Balochistan issue most serious and more important than ongoing loadshedding, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that the problem was complicated due to deteriorating law and order situation, target killings, increasing incidents of missing persons and terrorism. “It’s time to make sincere efforts to resolve the issue before it too late,” he added.
He was of the opinion that mere speeches in the sessions of both the houses of the Parliament were not enough rather all the political leadership should sit on the table with the annoyed Baloch leadership to come up with the solution. “At the moment no seriousness can be seen to resolve the imbroglio in the province,” he added.
He said that the situation had become so worse in Balochistan that the people who talked about Pakistan were being targeted.
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that the PML-Q leader Yar Muhammad Rind was being politically victimised as his supporters were being killed and no body was allowed to register the FIR.
He demanded that the political victimisation and registration of fake cases against Yar Muhammad Rind and his sons should be stopped as such kind of attitude would further worsen the law and order situation there.
NNI adds: Meanwhile, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that either an appeal could be filed against Supreme Court’s decision to strike down contempt law or the matter could be taken to the Parliament.
Speaking to a private television, he said that there should be no confrontation between the judiciary and the Parliament.
He said that the issue of loadshedding would be resolved before the general elections. He claimed that two major alliances would emerge in the election that would be a surprise for everybody.
Hussain said that no party would take clear majority in the elections adding that only the Q-league had the winning candidates. Commenting over blame game between PTI and PML-N, he said that Shaukat Khanum Hospital should not be dragged in it.
The PML-Q president said that the allied government was weighing various options against the Supreme Court verdict about the Contempt of Court Act 2012
He said that there should be no confrontation between the Parliament and the judiciary. He ruled out any extension in the term of assemblies.
