SWABI: Arshad Ali Khan, a young journalist who was injured in a clash recently, succumbed to his injuries at the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) here Saturday.

 

Arshad, who was working for a local weekly, was seriously injured three days ago when his maternal uncle and other relatives clashed over some issue. Locals said Arshad wanted to settle the dispute between the two parties.

 

He was immediately taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Swabi and after the first-aid was referred to the LRH in Peshawar due to his critical condition. His body was brought to his native town Shahmansoor, Swabi, where he was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard.

 

Meanwhile, the Gandhara Union of Journalists, Abaseen Union of Journalists and Swabi Union of Journalists expressed shock over the demise of Arshad Ali Khan. They lauded his services and contribution to the field of journalism in Swabi.
