MINGORA: Another militant died of cardiac arrest in the custody of the security forces on Saturday, sources said.

The sources said that a militant identified as Mohammad Ilyas, son of Dilbar Mian, had been in the custody of the security forces for a long time.

The sources said the militant fell ill some days ago. They added that he suffered heart attack, which proved fatal and died instantly. With the death of Mohammad Ilyas, the number of militants who have died in the custody of the security forces has reached 104.

Peshawar bureau adds: Security officials in Lower Dir said Saturday that the security forces did not suffer casualties in a firing incident that took place in Maidan area on Friday.

The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, Malakand, has asserted responsibility for the attack and claimed they had either killed or injured most of the 15 security personnel they thought were inside a building when the militants attacked it. A security official, who was unwilling to publish his name, said not a single soldier had suffered even a minor wound. He termed the claim as untrue and misleading.
