PESHAWAR: Minister for Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain Monday asked the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) to ensure uninterrupted power supply during Ramazan, particularly from 2am to 4am and 7pm to 10pm to facilitate the faithful.

 

He was chairing a meeting on development schemes in Wapda sector in Peshawar on Monday. The meeting was also attended by the Pesco officials.Mian Iftikhar said the duration of loadshedding could be reduced to a great extent if Wapda changed the old transmission lines and made efforts to overcome the line losses.

 

The minister maintained that after the 18th Amendment, power generation was also the responsibility of all the federating units and other provinces should follow the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in this regard.He added the provincial government had prepared the feasibility study of 24 hydel power projects and the foundation of two projects had already been laid down.
