PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtun-khwa Akbar Khan Hoti has

 

directed the police officials to adopt foolproof security measures for maintenance

 

of law and order during Ramazan.

 

The directives were issued to all regional police officers and district police officers throughout the province in a circular issued on Monday.

 

They were directed to tighten the noose around terrorists, improve intelligence network, establish special barricades at various points and carry out checking at

 

these points without causing any problems to the citizens.

 

The provincial police chief directed the police high-ups to take special measures for safety of important national installations, personalities, places of worship, markets, banks, hospitals, petrol pumps, railway stations, airports and other potential targets.

 

They were directed to take special security measures for those offering prayers at mosques, particularly during Taraweeh and Fajr prayers.The police officials were directed to carry out special checking of hotels, inns and guest houses for security purposes.

 

They were also directed to make journey safe for the commuters on all important main roads and increase patrolling to foil robberies. The police chief said that brandishing of all kind of arms and weapons was banned.

 

The cops were directed to adopt special security measures at all shopping

 

centres, particularly for the protection of women customers and deploy plainclothes personnel besides routine policing to effectively curb the menace of purse and mobile phone snatching incidents.Akbar Hoti ordered the traffic police to ensure smooth flow of traffic during rush hours and Iftar and traffic police should break fast on the duty spot.
