WANA: The tribal elders of South Waziristan have asked the government to compensate for the losses they suffered when their orchards were damaged by the hailstorm.Speaking at a press conference, Malik Samatullah Khan Wazir, Malik Ghazi Muhammad, Malik Bilal Khan Wazir and Mufti Jana Mir of Ahmadzai Wazir tribe said that the recent hailstorm in Wana destroyed vegetable farms and orchards worth millions of rupees. “We have never witnessed such destruction caused by hailstorm,” Malik Bilal said.The tribal elders said the tribal farmers were not in a position to bear the losses and needed government help to revive their farming.
